The Department of Water and Meteorology, Weather Forecasting Division reports a mixed weather pattern across Nepal due to the combined effects of western winds and local weather systems.
Currently, the hilly regions of the country are experiencing partly cloudy skies, while other areas remain mostly clear. This afternoon, clearer weather is expected in the hills of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with partly cloudy conditions persisting elsewhere.
Thunderstorms accompanied by light rain are possible in localized areas within the hills of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Isolated showers may also occur in a few hilly parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces. Light snowfall is likely in one or two higher elevation areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Province.
Residents of the Terai region in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces should be aware of the potential for storms in some areas.
Tonight, clearer skies are predicted for most hilly regions in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali. Light snowfall remains possible in one or two high-altitude areas within these provinces. The Terai region in the Lumbini province may experience isolated storms.
