Kalikot: A 68-year-old woman, Manpura KC, from Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality Ward No. 9, Mumra, tragically lost her life after falling while cutting grass on Sunday afternoon.
According to residents, KC slipped and fell into the water, sustaining fatal injuries. Her last rites were performed on Monday. She is survived by five sons and three daughters. Her husband, Gome KC, is a farmer.
The District Police Office in Kalikot has reported a concerning trend of fatalities due to natural disasters in the region. An average of 30 to 40 people lose their lives annually in Kalikot due to floods. In response to this crisis, the District Disaster Management Committee has recently requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to provide relief assistance to families affected by such incidents, including those who have lost loved ones due to falls and landslides.
