A 22-year-old woman from Rukum West has tragically died after falling ill while collecting Yarchagumba in Dolpa.
Jamuna Bista, from Gotamkot Bista village in Aathbiskot municipality-4, succumbed to illness on Monday while traveling from Lainibagar in Dolpa’s Kaike rural municipality.
According to Ward Chairman Narasingh Bista, Jamuna was returning home with her younger sister Saraswati after collecting Yarchagumba in an area called Naure. Sadly, Jamuna’s health deteriorated during the journey.
Jamuna’s body will be transported to the District Hospital Dolpa for a post-mortem examination before being brought back to Gotamkot for final rites.
