Rautahat: A 24-year-old woman was fatally electrocuted at a fair in Rautahat district on Wednesday.
Ringkudevi Sahani, a resident of Madhavnarayan Municipality-9, was operating a cosmetic shop at the Mahabiri flag fair in Dhanadi village of Gadhimai Municipality-7. According to district police spokesperson DSP Deepak Kumar Rai, the incident occurred as Sahani was preparing to load her shop’s goods onto a cart she had brought from a nearby farm.
The woman came into contact with an electric wire connected to the fair’s setup, resulting in her electrocution. Despite being rushed to Better Nepal Multi-Speciality Hospital in Garuda for emergency medical treatment, Sahani was pronounced dead by doctors.
Local authorities have taken the body into custody for a post-mortem examination and are conducting further investigations into the tragic incident.
