The body of Lilabati Devi Mahato, a 35-year-old resident of Laukath, Barahathawa Municipality-12, Sarlahi was discovered in a field on Sunday. The discovery was made approximately 1.5 kilometers from Mahato’s residence, according to the Barahathawa Area Police Office.
Authorities report signs of swelling and redness on the deceased’s face and neck, suggesting foul play. In connection with the case, Lilabati Devi Mahato’s husband, 38-year-old Shankar Mahato, and his younger wife, Sajni Devi Mahato, have been arrested. Police are currently detaining them for questioning, and a full investigation is underway.
