An 18-year-old woman, Anjali Pariyar from Bardiya, tragically lost her life in an ambulance accident in Kailali on Tuesday morning. The Indian ambulance, returning from Haldwani, India, after Pariyar received medical treatment, veered out of control on the East-West Highway at Balchaur, Lamkichuha Municipality.
Pariyar suffered severe injuries and despite being rushed to Lal Ratna Hospital, she could not be saved. Five other occupants of the ambulance escaped unharmed.
The ambulance, with license plate UK 04 PA 1905, and its driver, Parelal, 50, from Nainital, India, are currently in custody at the Ilam Police Office Lamki.
